Chapter 01 · By the numbers

THE MATHS
OF ONE BOY

Every life is a set of astonishing statistics. Here are Yannis's numbers, counted live, right now, to the second.

0Days of YannisEvery single one of them has been his own kind of brilliant.
0Hours of rhythmHe rocks, spins, swims and dances — a body that thinks out loud.
26Letters, all lovedThe alphabet was one of the first friends who never confused him.
0Heartbeats so farHis heart beats about eighty‑five times a minute; each beat is a small drum of being alive.

These numbers are counting up right now, in real time.

HE IS NOT BEHIND. HE IS ON HIS OWN MAP — AND THE VIEW FROM HERE IS WORTH THE DETOUR.

Chapter 02 · His palette

COLOURS OF
A MIND

Yannis is not a label. He is a palette of six vivid colours that make up the way he meets the world. None of these colours describes a problem; every one of them describes a person.

01

FULL VOLUME

He feels the world at maximum saturation, from every instrument to every dust mote in the sunbeam. It is a gift, and on loud days it is a load. Quiet is his sanctuary.

02

MOVEMENT

His body is his thinking tool. Rocking, spinning and pacing are not distractions; they are the grammar of his thoughts. A still body is not a listening body for him.

03

DEPTH

What he loves, he loves completely, and he learns it more deeply than most adults ever will. His interests are not obsessions; they are doorways into the universe.

04

OWN ORDER

He learns in spirals: he circles a thing until it clicks, and then it clicks all at once. His milestones arrive differently, and they lose nothing by it.

05

HONESTY

He wears no masks, gives no performances, and offers no flattery. If he is happy, you know; if he is not, you also know. In a world of pretence, he never takes his face off.

06

PATTERN

Where others spot the tree, he sees the forest. His mind weaves connections that most people never notice, and when he shows you one, you never unsee it.

Chapter 03 · Tap to turn

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
vs WHAT IS TRUE

These four small cards each flip a misunderstanding into an understanding. There is always more on the other side of a person.

Chapter 04 · An empathy dial

DIAL THE WORLD
UP TO HIS VOLUME

This is the same room, heard by two different pairs of ears. Drag the dial and watch an ordinary space become what it can feel like for him; then see what brings it back down.

Chapter 05 · His first language

THE ALPHABET
ROOM

There are twenty‑six doors here, and he opened most of them before he could tie his shoes. Tap any letter to read what it means in his world.

A
alphabetThe alphabet was the first door he opened, and he never stopped loving it.

Chapter 06 · Swipe the rail

24 HOURS,
HIS WAY

Here is one ordinary day, card by card. Predictability is kindness: seeing what comes next is half of feeling safe inside time.

06:30

Slow start

There is no rush. He drinks warm milk, wears his favourite shirt, and spends a few minutes with his letters before the day asks anything of him.

09:00

School

He goes to his classroom, with his teachers and his visual schedule on the wall. Knowing what comes next is what safety feels like.

12:30

Letters everywhere

Lunch is also a reading room: packets, signs, and name tags. Nothing escapes him.

16:00

Swimming

He goes swimming, because water is his second language. Under it, the noise of the world softens to a murmur that he can hold.

18:30

The family table

He sits at the family table with his own foods, his own chair, and his own people. Stories told and stories not told are both welcome here.

20:00

The same book, again

He reads the same book again, because repetition is not boredom but love: the same story, the same voice, and the same perfect ending.

21:00

The star window

He takes one last look at the sky that started it all. Then he sleeps, under the moon that keeps him.

Chapter 07 · The climb

EVERY PEAK
A YEAR

His story is a mountain range, and each summit is a year that changed him. Flags fly only on the peaks he has already climbed. Scroll, or tap a mountain.

Chapter 08 · A field guide

HOW TO WALK
BESIDE HIM

Yannis communicates, plays and connects in his own way. These eight small rules are the whole map. They are easier, and far more fun, than people often assume.

I

WAIT TEN SECONDS

After you ask him something, count slowly to ten in your head. His answer is coming at its own speed. Silence is not emptiness; it is him thinking beautifully.

II

SPEAK PLAINLY

Use one idea per sentence, real words, and no irony. Clear language is not baby language; it is the deepest form of respect.

III

EYES ARE NOT LISTENING

He hears you perfectly while he looks elsewhere. Never chase his eyes in order to earn his attention.

IV

JOIN THE RHYTHM

Rocking, spinning and pacing are how he calms himself, focuses, and rejoices. They are not misbehaviour; they are his song. Dance alongside them.

V

“NO” IS SACRED

His boundaries are real boundaries. Consent matters for every body and every kind of mind.

VI

TURN DOWN THE WORLD

Loud, bright and crowded places can genuinely hurt him. Offer him the quiet corner before he has to ask for it.

VII

CHEER AT HIS LINES

His milestones arrive late and look different, and they are no smaller for it. Celebrate his milestones, not other people's.

VIII

ASSUME COMPETENCE

He understands far more than he can show. Talk to him, and never about him when he is in the room. He is listening. He always is.

Chapter 10 · Epilogue

A LETTER
FOR YOU.

It is sealed with a kiss, saved forever, and reread often. These are the words we hope he one day finds waiting for him.

Dearest Yannis,

You arrived on a Sunday night when the moon was almost full and the mountains were holding their breath — thirty‑four minutes before midnight, on your own schedule, as always.

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not too much, and you are not not enough. You are a boy of letters, rhythm and wonder, and that is already more than enough.

May you always have the quiet you need, the movement you crave, and people who gladly wait those ten beautiful seconds for your answer.

— with all our love, always
